Many different cultures immigrated to America during imperialism. The Irish came due to the potato famine. Most immigrants came from the British isles. Italians came because of bad economic conditions in their home country. Some Germans came before their home country improved their industrial conditions. Many immigrants were craftsman and left their home country because land in America was plentiful and cheap. Most immigrants were not poor but came to America to avoid poverty. Many Asians came to America as well but their travels were halted due to the Chinese Exclusion Act which prohibited Chinese immigration.

I agree with you on the reasons for immigration into the United States during the era of Imperialism. The pattern that I see when we take a look at why we received all of these immigrants, is because they saw a better opportunity in this country in comparison to what was offered in their country.
